Features of the stretched fabric:
Mechanically fastened under tension.
Installed peripherally on frames of wood or MDF of unlimited height and width.
Stretched, basted, restretched, and tensioned to the woodframe system.
Left for a time to atmospherically cure between stretchings until sufficiently taut to avoid sagging under year-around varying temperature and humidity conditions.
Installed as monolithic Classic StretchWall with seams, seamless and/or vertical or horizontal butt joints as specified on drawings.
The core (between the fabric and the drywall) is a fiberglass, tackable mineral board, or other specified material in thicknesses or densities as shown on drawing provided.
The frame, infill, and backing will be constructed of materials that can be FR or non-FR.
The drywall substrate is taped, spackled, and sealed against any air leakage through the wall.
The owner or contractor will specify or provide fabric, which is treated with a stain repellent and flame-retardant substance to meet an ASTM E-84 Class-A rating and the NFPA-701 Vertical Burn Tests
FR/non and FR assembly/components test for Classic StretchWall
Available as an FR or non-FR system.
The FR system has an ASTM E-84 Class-A rating with a maximum 25 flame spread and 25 smoke contribution. FR-treated wood components in conjunction with an FR-rated infill will be furnished. All components will be tested in accordance with e-84 components tests requirements.
The non-FR system will use materials for the frame with an infill of fiberglass or FR mineral board to accommodate tacking.
Stretched-panel and stretched-ceiling specifications
Fabric stretched to elements for walls and ceilings are manufactured, furnished, and installed as FR or non-FR fabricwrapped acoustical panels.
FR panels are constructed of materials (frame, infill, and backing) with FR flame-spread ratings not exceeding 25 and smoke contributions of 50, tested in accordance with ASTM E-84 requirements as an assembly.
Non-FR panels are fabricated of MDF (44 lb.) or as a solid untreated hardwood frame, mechanically fastened or assembled with hardwood dowels with glued joints, in custom sizes and shapes. “R” radius panels are machined with 1/8 in. radius edges on any or all four sides.
The core is either 1-in. fiberglass or tackable mineral board, secured by non-FR acoustically transparent backing, to be indicated on accompanying drawings.
